We’re Valley Building Supplies - Powell River’s very own award-winning building centre. Our customers range from confident contractors to hesitant homeowners. We provide them with supplies, services and advice to help get the job done right. 

Now we’re looking to add to our installation team: someone with some experience in general labour/shop work or trades, and we hope our search ends with you. 

Shop Worker/Installer:

This role involves both manufacturing and installation of our products. Primarily consisting of pre-hang doors, garage doors, and countertops, our products require expert craftsmanship and installation to ensure customer satisfaction.  

Using a strong attention to detail and experience with a variety of tools, you’ll ensure that our products meet and exceed customer expectations. When dealing with customers and coworkers, you will bring a positive and professional attitude.  

When you’re not working on installations or preparations, you’ll be helping out around the shop as needed—receiving orders, organizing inventory, cleaning, and prepping for jobs.

Working at Valley Building Supplies:

This is a full-time, permanent position at our store on the outskirts of Powell River. Typically, you’ll work from 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Most of your work will be done right in our shop, especially at the beginning of your time with us. Our equipment is in great shape, which means you won’t have to deal with snags on the job. 

You’ll start out at a competitive wage with steady, full-time hours. We also offer a generous benefits plan, vacation, discounted building supplies, and help with buying your own Apple computer.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years’ experience working in any trade, preferably in carpentry, manufacturing, or installation 


• Experience working with a variety of hand and power tools


• Experience working with machinery (an asset)


• Ability to pass a criminal background record check
