About You
You have the strategic leadership skills and entrepreneurial spirit to lead a start-up, non-profit organization focused on Racial and Ethnic Equity (REE) in the development space. You’ve worked in the global development sector in fundraising and can lead events and convenings with great efficacy, engaging a vast network of stakeholders to facilitate strong relationships to build trust together, and a commitment to advancing REE in global development.
Major Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Human Resource Management

Recruiting, managing and motivating staff and fostering a culture of transparency, accountability, and innovation.

Fundraising and Financial Management
-
Responsible for all fundraising activities, sponsoring CREED events with donors and sponsors and grant development. Managing the organization’s budget and ensuring fiscal responsibility, reporting to the Board.

Operational Oversight and Learning

Establishing and maintaining systems for CREED’s events and coordinating with the Learning Committee to determine design content and programming.

Membership and Board Engagement

Fostering strong relationships with stakeholders to expand the membership base and collaborate with members to identify key priorities and initiatives that align with CREED’s mission. Coordinate Board and Executive Committee meetings and providing updates and reporting on implemented policies established by the board.
Qualifying for this role means you have experience in a startup organization or initiative that experienced growth and experience in the global development sector. You have functional expertise in Racial and Ethnic Equality (REE) and/or Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA), preferably engaging in learning activities. You’re an expert in budgets and financials and have fundraising experience in the non-profit sector. You’re excited to lead your organization in an inclusive way so all feel welcome to contribute to learning and growth. Bachelor’s degree, in an applicable field of study; master’s degree preferred and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.

The Coalition for Racial and Ethnic Equity in Development (CREED) is a start-up non-profit organization created in 2022. CREED is a collective of international development and humanitarian assistance organizations based in the United States committed to building racial and ethnic equity (REE).
Working at CREED
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States for more than one year. Visa sponsorship is not available. This is a full-time position based in the Washington, DC area.
The salary for this role is $150,000. Benefits include generous paid annual leave and holidays – 25 days (about 3 and a half weeks) of PTO and 16 paid holidays, as well as contributions toward health care (medical, dental, and vision) for employee and dependents, a 401k with an employer contribution of 3%, short and long-term disability, and other progressive benefits to foster a healthy work-life balance including comprehensive parental leave and family medical leave.
