Our Burlington office has an immediate opening for full-time Assurance Manager.
Reporting to Partners and Senior Managers, you will be responsible for:

Reviewing (and amending as necessary) all Review and/or Compilation Engagement documents to be issued to the client including; working papers, financial statements, planning documents, notes, attached schedule, management letters and tax returns
- Providing constructive criticism of working papers for Review and/or Compilation Engagements and offers guidance and direction to staff working on the file
- At the invitation of the Partner, attending the Review and/or Compilation Engagement final meeting with the client to observe and contribute towards discussions, as appropriate
- Preparing very large Audit Engagements
- Reviewing (and amending as necessary) all sections of the Audit Engagement
- Supervising the in-charge for the audit engagement and monitoring the process in relation to established budget and due dates
- Ensuring audit engagements are completed in accordance with Firm policies, procedures and standards
- Attending and contributing towards discussion with client/Board of Directors to review the Audit Engagement.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and more efficient tax treatments for corporate and trust tax returns and brings them to the attention of the Senior Manager and/or Partner, where applicable
- Reviewing various income tax slips and filings for corporate tax returns including T4’s and T5’s
- Ensuring all queries and outstanding points have been resolved satisfactorily, prior to review by the Senior Manager and/or Partner
- Assisting Senior Managers and Partners with client billings, as required
- Delegating sections of the file to junior staff members based on their knowledge, experience and capabilities and ensures that staff are properly supervised during completion of each procedure
- Coaching staff by providing support and development and by conducting performance evaluations, if deemed appropriate
- Leading in-house technical training sessions for junior staff members (ICAO or other)
- Presenting at Firm Events (e.g. PD Day), when required
- Participating in Firm Committees, when required
The successful candidate will have:

Graduate of a University Accounting Program or equivalent
- 2-5 years post-designation experience in a public accounting Firm
- Experience in an oversight role
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
- Thorough understanding of GAAP/GAAS, ASPE, CAS and CIS and Canadian Taxation
- Microsoft Office
- CaseWare, CaseView, Doc.It, Taxprep
