Executive Assistant & Office Manager
Your goal in this position is to provide support to MakerKids' CEO, Jennifer Turliuk, whose work has been featured in Forbes, the New York Times, and more.
As the fourth member of our head office team, you’ll own a wide variety of tasks to support the CEO and the business to succeed.
Specifically, you will:
- Manage the CEO’s business and personal calendar and appointments, as well as her email Inbox
- Keep the office organized and well-stocked; handle administrative tasks such as printing, scanning, and document management
- Act as the CEO’s personal assistant, running personal errands and tasks
- HR duties such as scheduling staff, scheduling training, preparing training materials, liaising between staff, and ensuring policies are met
- Operational support: shipping, ordering, ensuring a safe work environment
- Liaise with customers over the phone and email, processing registrations, payments, and refunds
- Assist with a variety of office tasks such as bookkeeping, tracking information in spreadsheets, preparing research and reports, and implementing systems
You’ll excel in this role if you are quick and analytical, love taking care of details, and are fuelled by the variety of a small, entrepreneurial organization.

The Practical
This is a full-time, permanent role requiring flexible hours. Our business is somewhat seasonal, so your hours may be earlier or later in the day depending on the season.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience, and will also include a health spending account, group RRSP, learning budget, free yoga classes, and fun team socials.
Our bright, colourful, playful Makerspace office is located at 2451 Bloor Street West, steps from Jane TTC station and a vibrant Toronto neighbourhood.
Qualifications
- Experience as an executive assistant to an entrepreneur preferred
- Experience or attraction to working in a high-growth, start-up environment
- Ability to work varied schedules, according to seasonal needs
