Big Data Analyst, InsurTech
Our client is one of the largest insurance companies in Europe selling its services through traditional and digital channels which are rapidly growing. It has acquired a state of the art expertise in the latter, which enables it to successfully and rapidly expand in several countries.

The company is currently recruiting to form the team who will launch this new digital insurance company in Canada, designed to challenge how insurance is delivered in Canada. The goal is to grow to 200 employees within 5 years.
We are looking for a Big Data Analyst/Scientist to be a part of an Agile Scrum start up team, culture and organisation and help build it from the ground up.
Job Description:
-To work in partnership with the marketing and insurance operations to analyze big data and give advice on opportunities to take meaningful action on emerging data trends that are in line with the business plan and strategy.
-To be the architect and engineer of our analytical data and documents.
-To ensure that the experience and information provided to our clients is consistent and meaningful. Its work directly impacts our profitability and business/supplier relationships.
Key Result Areas:
-Building the immediate and evolving architecture of the Canadian Analytics team
-Design and implement bid data mining policy to uncover profitable market opportunities and cost efficiencies.
-Help inform pricing models.
-Request or run reports to gather data from insurers; review to ensure it is complete and accurate;provide analysis and/or prepare the data for advanced analysis
-Perform required analysis such as cost projections rate renewals, product design related analysis and insurer proposals
-Building data models for marketing and underwriting.
-Summarize data, analysis, key findings and recommendations in client ready format by working directly with team members to prepare these reports and presentations.
-Assist in special projects as required
Requirements:
-University degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields
-Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Big data position
-Excellent people management skills with the ability to coach and mentor staff
-Hands-on mentality
-Collaborative attitude
-Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
-Confident and robust Ability to work autonomously, with minimal direction.
-Ability to use initiative and create work required in the big data space
-Must be organized, ability to work to tight deadlines, under pressure and be flexible to change
-Ability to juggle many priorities, manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
-Knows or is extremely interested in new developments (digital, cloud, agile/scrum, big data).
-Wants to be part to a high tech insurance start up.
