Warehouse Supervisor
The Warehouse Supervisor based in Mississauga is responsible for:
Responsibilities:
- Maintain receiving, shipping, warehousing, and distribution operations by implementing, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures.
- Comply with federal, provincial, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Control inventory levels by conducting physical counts; reconciling with data storage system.
- Achieve warehouse operational objectives by scheduling and assigning employees; following up on work results.
- Maintain warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
- Maintain warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
- Picking, receiving and shipping duties when required.
- Confirming stock availability and suggesting alternatives.
- Participate in regular cycle counts and annual inventory.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications:
- Experience in a supervisory role an asset
- Excellent problem solving skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- High level of analytical ability to assess and identify appropriate alternative courses of action for definition and resolution of issues that are unique and diverse; ability to exercise independent judgment is required
- Ability to manage employee conflict to a successful resolution.
- Ability to assess talent and build development plans and to provide support and constructive performance feedback
- Ability to proactively plan and organize work to accomplish goals
- Strong time management skills.
