RPT Support Worker DS

Wage Rate: $23.08 - $24.46 per hour (note: the above hourly rate includes negotiated rate and permanent compensation enhancement).

Schedule: Variable schedule, guaranteed between forty-eight (48) and seventy (70) hours each pay period. Schedules may vary each pay period and employees will be provided with their schedule at least six (6) weeks in advance.
Pathways to Independence requires two (2) Regular Part-Time Support Workers, Developmental Services to provide case management and assisted living support for adults.
Under the direction of the Client Services Manager, the Support Worker, Developmental Services, supports adults with a developmental disability with homemaking, personal care, community, and personal development skills in accordance with the person’s Quality of Life Plan (QLP). The Support Worker, DS will implement established strategies under the general direction of the Manager, DS and Counsellor, DS. The Support Worker, DS ensures that the person’s services and support promote their rights, choices, self-determination, and independence and builds personal and community living skills.
The successful candidate must have the following skills/qualifications:
- Secondary School graduation and minimum one-year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Services; (Proof of education is a condition of employment).
- Continuing education in developmental disabilities an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Valid G class driver’s license.
Ideal candidates will also have experience and abilities aligned with the key responsibilities, which include:
- Demonstrate a person-centered philosophy and commitment to agency vision, mission, and guiding principles.
- Experience working with adults with a developmental disability in a community based, group living or independent living environment.
- Provide effective services and support to supported persons.
- Manage and maintain accurate client information and documentation.
- Participate in and ensure a positive team environment.
- Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.
The successful candidate must be able to perform the job duties as outlined in the job description. All employees at Pathways will be responsible for a commitment to safety. Shifts are typically 12 hours long and include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
